Gambling Commission Suspends BresBet Operating Licence

The UK Gambling Commission has suspended the operating licence of BresBet Ltd following concerns over possible compliance failures.

The suspension took effect on August 28, 2026 and also applies to Bet St George Ltd. The regulator said its enquiries identified suspected issues involving social responsibility and anti-money laundering controls.

The Gambling Commission stated:

The suspension follows Commission enquiries which revealed suspected social responsibility and anti-money laundering failings.

The regulator has started a review of both licences under Section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005. The suspensions will remain in place until the Commission is satisfied that the operators meet regulatory requirements.

BresBet is currently not accepting bets. However, customers can still access their accounts and withdraw funds during the suspension.

The operator stated that it is working through the issue and will provide further updates when appropriate.

BresBet launched in 2021 and has been active in horse racing and greyhound racing sponsorships in the UK.
